Exploiting AI to Boost Youth Employability

PLAY - AI

PLAY-AI is a European project that helps young people build the skills they need to succeed in an AI-driven world of work.

Artificial Intelligence is changing how we learn, work and communicate. PLAY-AI makes AI literacy accessible, practical and engaging through gamified learning, digital escape rooms and career readiness tools. We want to support young people to:

Learn through play
Understand AI
Prepare for the future of work

Why PLAY-AI?

Across Europe, employers are looking for people who are adaptable, digitally confident and ready to work alongside new technologies. At the same time, many young people feel uncertain about how AI will affect their career paths or what skills they actually need. PLAY-AI was created to bridge this gap. By combining youth work, non-formal education and gamification, the project helps young people develop practical skills while building confidence and curiosity about technology. Rather than focusing only on theory, PLAY-AI emphasises learning by doing, encouraging exploration, creativity and critical thinking.

Our Aim

The project provides a range of innovative learning tools and experiences designed to support both young people and youth workers. These include interactive digital escape rooms exploring AI concepts, a professional development programme for youth workers, career readiness resources, digital badges recognising new skills, and AI Learning Festivals hosted in each partner country. All resources will be freely available through the PLAY-AI online platform, ensuring open access to learning across Europe. We want to:

  • Build AI literacy skills among young people
  • Support youth workers to integrate AI into their practice
  • Strengthen digital competence and resilience
  • Improve career readiness and employability
  • Create accessible, engaging AI learning tools
